(P6) Completed Edit

Final Video with the completed edit -

The final edit of the audio visual promotion is the edit which includes all of the transitions, text and effects to make the video into its finalised advertisement. This part takes much longer than the offline edit as it has a lot more intricate details, and takes steps to finalise which takes a longer time compared to the offline edit.
For the editing software, we either continued using premier pro or switched to After Effects. For our promo, we used After Effects as it has a wider range of effects and helps with the overall composition of our video.
We decided the Calla would complete the main Promo Edit, as she has worked with After Effects previously so already has the knowledge of how to use and create certain effects. We will all create our individual edits though, so that we can highlight our individual styles.

This image is the original image that we used for the Fender logo, however, the colour was wrong as a black logo would not stand out on our promo with it being very dark. This was a very simple fix as all we needed to do was invert the colour of the logo then save it as a PNG. This could be done on Affects using the linear colour key panel, which we used to both convert the photo to a PNG with non background, and change the colour
This is an image showing the linear colour key panel process, showing how the image has been reverted , and showing how the view mode is in final output as the background of the image has been removed. This is useful as without having a PNG image with no background, it would make the promo look low budget, and completely discard the realistic feel of the promotion, as it would look like we have just inserted an image.

This image is when we synced the promotion and the cuts in video to the beat of the music. The best way to do this was to zoom in on the promo, to around 5 or 6 seconds of view. This gives us a better view of the audio waves, and means that we can make the cuts precise by matching them perfectly to where the amplitude of the sound waves is the highest. This means that the cuts are perfectly on time with the drum beats.

This adds a style which is more involved with the music, rather than just being in the background. It has a larger effect on the video and the music feels like
These are the audio overlays onto the video. These are essential in our audio-visual promotion as the Music is one of the key features of our video; it displays the theme of the advertisement. All this shows is how the audio is set out. It did not matter where we channeled the audio as long as we could hear it, so this was not much of a task.

In the end the audio synced perfectly with both the actual song and the guitar piece that I recorded. this was very nice as it meant that I kept the recording in time, which merged the audio and video perfectly and professionally.
THis is the filter we used on the promotion. This filter added a warmth level to the video, as well as decreased the exposure of the video; making it darker. This added more style to the promotion, and mad it more authentic to the 60's feel that Fender promote with their guitars.
These two images show the difference in exposure that we changed for the video. We made the video slightly darker to add more style and effect, and to suit the video more to the Fender theme. This was simply done by toggling the exposure settings and lowering them to a point at which we felt happy with the output.

This is the PNG Fender logo that we used for the fine scene of the promo. We added some motion blur to this as a style effect so that when it moved it had a small amount of blur. We were happy with this small change so we kept it on the online edit of the video.
We used Futura as the final font for the promotion which states the Fender music corporation. This was the official font used by Fender so we thought it would be fitting enough to use for these end slides. This turned out well for us.

Conclusion  -
Overall, the video turned out exactly how we wanted it, which is very positive for us. We created everything that we needed for the promo in the correct time scale.
All of the transitions and effects that we needed were completed extremely smoothly, and we could not be happier with the RAW shots that we got from the camera, as they turned out amazing.
